All structural and flat products can be supplied as per customers required length and option for door delivery is also available.
Apart from the Iron and Steel trading work SSNSL undertakes the following processing works:
1. De-coiling, straightening and shearing of HR coils upto 12 mm thickness x 2100 mm width
2. De-coiling, straightening, cutting and bending of TMT coils upto 12 mm dia, and
3. Straightening of MS plates upto 90 mm thickness.
The Godown is located at #150 Ponneri High Road, Eachangudi, Near Manali New Town, Chennai -103, the main Industrial Hub at North Chennai with a total land area of around 2, 35,000 sq.ft including shed area of 24,000 sq.ft with four EOT cranes in the capacity of 40 tonnes, 25 tonnes, 10 tonnes and 7 tonnes for handling the loading and unloading of materials and processing work. Apart from the EOT cranes, there are four mobile cranes – two cranes in capacity of 12 tonnes and two cranes in 10 tonnes and 8 tonnes capacity, respectively, for handling materials in the open area.
About the products
Angles: MS angle or mild steel angle is an L-shaped cross-section used in the construction of Buildings and Structures. The most commonly used MS steel angles are the ones forming a 90-degree angle with two sides of equal length.
The various sizes of MS Angles are 50x50x5mm, 50x50x6mm, 75x75x6mm, 75x75x8mm, 90x90x6mm, 90x90x8mm, 100x100x8mm, 110x110x10/12 mm, 130x130x10/12mm, 150x150x12mm/ĺ16mm, etc.
Some of the major benefits of mild steel angles are quality, tenacity, adaptability, elongation, retraction and rigidity, etc. These MS angles will provide a good foundation.
Channels: MS channels or commonly known as C-channels, because of their C like shape, is represented by the web height and flange width of the channel. Mild steel channels are among the finest quality of MS steel and are widely used in the automotive and fabrication industry. They are mainly used in the manufacturing of trucks, trailers, tippers, EOT cranes, generator frames, factory sheds, shipbuilding, buses, construction of bridges and other engineering structural constructions. MS channel sizes ranges from 75x40mm to 400x100mm.

Beam (Joist): SSNSL supplies an extensive range of MS Beam/Joist, developed using premium quality mild steel. MS Beam helps in ensuring construction of a sturdy infrastructure, providing maximum lifespan, also provides resistance against corrosion and high tensile strength. The company deals in MS Beam prepared as per the industrial standards and are available in various sizes ranging from 150x75mm to 400x140mm.
Parallel Flange Section (NPB & WPB): Parallel flange sections are hot rolled steel structural sections, with parallel flanges having square toes and curves at the root of flange and web. Parallel sections are preferred by today’s structural engineers, architects and construction companies for their attributes like:
1. Higher product flexibility – Wide range of width, flange thickness and web thickness combinations of any nominal depth
2. Mechanically more efficient – Higher bending strength for beams and higher axial load carrying capacity for columns
3. Structurally more stable – Greater radius of gyration lowers slenderness ratio and allows withstanding of buckling to a greater extent, and
4. Lighter Structures – Higher strength-to-weight ratio leads to lighter structures and foundations.

Wide parallel flange beams are doubly symmetric shapes whose inside flange surfaces are substantially parallel.
Beams or columns have flange width same as depth up to beam depth 300 mm. Whereas for beam depth larger than 300 mm flange width goes up to 310 mm. Wide Parallel Flange beams are used as column sections, i.e., vertical members carrying axial loads (higher width of the sections resulting in higher radius of gyration of the cross section in minor axis allowing it to take greater compressive loads as column).
WPB section is more efficient in terms of compression, as it has a higher radius of gyration which can resist buckling to a greater extent. It can lead to 20%-30% saving of material over conventional sections.
In order to give that cutting edge to the customers, SAIL is producing the parallel flange sections in state-of-the-art universal mills at ISP, Burnpur. The SSNSL range of sections includes both Narrow Parallel flange Beams (NPB 100 to 600 depth) and Wide parallel flange Beams (WPB 160x160mm currently upto 300x300 mm).
Mild steel plates
Mild steel plates are available in the following Grades like MS/Sailma E350Br, E350C, E410Br/Boiler Quality SA516GR70, SA516GR60 and SA515GR60/Corten Steel/SAIL Hard. MS plates are most typically found in industries that require structural construction and fabrication, such as construction, engineering, and shipbuilding. This is largely due to their high tensile strength as well as their ability to work in conjunction with other metals. MS plates can be used in the construction of structures on land or at sea; however, they are more common for marine use, due to their resistance to corrosion from saltwater, in addition to their use in places like warehouses, bridges, and railway stations.
MS plates are known for their exceptional tensile properties, damage tolerance, longevity, ease of use, precision, and great polish, as well as their ability to withstand high temperatures.
Mild steel plates can come in various sizes and grades. Thicknesses available range from 3mm up to as thick as 150mm in all sizes. The company can cut materials as per customers’ requirements.
